Born and raised in the Chobe district near Kasane, Big Tom brings over 20 years of hands-on expertise in the safari industry. He began his career as a trainee cook at a Chobe lodge, quickly advancing to professional guiding after earning his license. His background as a local from a farming and fishing family, combined with fluency in English, Sesubia, and Setswana, enables him to deliver authentic, immersive tours that highlight Botswana's biodiversity and cultural heritage. While he has guided for established operators like Kwando Safaris, Big Tom Private Safaris represents his independent venture, emphasizing personalized adventures for independent travelers or those seeking private guidance.

Offering flexible options such as self-drive camping with fully equipped vehicles (with or without a guide), budget to luxury mobile tented camping in three categories (budget, semi-luxury, and luxury), and fly-in excursions to exclusive camps in the Okavango Delta for exceptional wildlife sightings in private concessions.
